Members & Guest Caveat…
Scammers are criminals without conscious and have no limits in luring unsuspecting persons. As time goes on, their Methods of Operations (M.O.) become well known in mainstream society. Then the scammers moves on to more devious scams. However, the basic tenets are always the same… parting you from your money. One of the new twists in the scammers’ bag of tricks is to create sites that advocate anti-scamming in an effort to lend credibility. They may even name-drop some credible firms, sites or personalities. They may offer a free carrot of some type to prime the pump. Typically this will be some information or no cost service. Then they will directly and/or indirectly promote a service that requires money and that is how they get their funds.
This brings up a troubling prospect. When our staff generates information for our members and guests, we take pride that it is without any commercial bias let alone the desire to scam anyone. Still, another feature that we provide is out-of-site sources of information such as articles, reports and links to related sites. Such sites can be and not limited to forums, agencies and other related services.
The caveat is that the RWP may unknowingly be assisting in their scam by proxy. Consequently the existence of any links to out-of-site sources should not be construed as a RWP approved source for goods or services. We do not have the funds or capabilities to embark on such efforts at this time. Even the ‘Ronin Thumbs Up’ is very limited to that I’m aware of the service or site and have some degree of confidence that the site, firm or owner is on the up and up only at some previous or current time of the original post.
It is our effort to provide the best information available. That being said, we focus on the information that other sites provide. It is possible that some less than honest sites will have valuable info and yet tout a scam in the mix. Some sites may even imply that they or their services may have the approval of the RWP or Ronin. The RWP is currently not in the endorsing business and I (Ronin) don’t guarantee anything except the goodwill of this site.
If any member or guest knows or suspects that any of our linked out-of–site sources is not what it appears to be or that it is indirectly promoting a scam, please let us know.
Thank You,
