For those that are interested. Day Watch has been playing in the Russian theaters for a couple months.  The good DVDs should be coming out at any time.  From what I hear of the reviews, it is much better than the first (Night Watch).

Day Watch

I just got my copy of  ‘Day Watch’ hot of the Russian burner.  If you thought 'Night Watch' was a “B” movie then ‘Day Watch’ is a definite must see “A” movie.  It is packed with action, suspense and massive effects with the ubiquitous Russian twist.  Even of you don’t understand Russian, you will appreciate the special effects galore.  This is the second movie of the trilogy.

P.S.  The third ‘Dusk Watch’ maybe released sometime next year (my guess).

In the attached image, the Russian released verison (Russian Language) in on the left & the Fox American released version (in English) is on the right.

Night Watch is available with English Subtitles. I saw it about two weeks ago. Borrowed it from a friend. Quite a bizzare movie actually but a fun watch. I hope to find Day Watch soon with English Subtitles as well.

Saw NWinUSA and thought a pretty good take on the vamp genre with a Russian twist. Bought DW here in Cheboksary in Russian and truth be told was not as good as NW IMHO. Firstb 10 min are my favorite with Tamorlane and his horde of warriors.

I just bought Night watch today it had English, Spanish, and French on one side with the russian version on the other.  I had myself put on the list for Day watch and they said it should be out pretty soon.

Bad Karma,

I bought the English version of Day Watch at Hollywood Videos a couple of months ago (got tired of asking my wife, "what did they say?").  Now, I think I saw that they are now going for $5 in the previously used sections.

Oops... that was Day Watch that I bought off the rack.

Thanx the guys at the vid store hear are about 15yrs old and act like it.  They didn't look it up and said it would be out soon I'll call one of the others and see if they have it.  By the way I liked NW and can't wait to see DW.  I know there is to be a third in the series, would you by chance have any inside info on it for us.

Bad Karma,

There is very little info about Dusk Watch at this time.  It appears that this third episode of the trilogy is being co-produced by Fox.  The primary language will be in English.  It is currently still in production but sources say that it will be released in the 2007 to 2008 time frame.  That's a pretty big time frame.  This perhaps Fox is not used to working with Russians!;)

Fox's website says Day watch releases in the US 1 june 07.  What they don't say is whether or not it is going straight to dvd.  I would figure this to be the case as they really didn't make enough off of Night Watch in the theatres here to justify otherwise.  Rumor has it that fox really hacked this one up though.  Supposedly they took out the original opening sequence, and replaced it with a recap of the first movie.  It has also been said that they took the script for the dubbing and completely changed it.  Apparently they want to make it more american.  (why on earth would you want to do that)   Of course all of this is just rumor and hearsay.  However if it is true Ill have to get a subtitled copy. (even if it does take me a month of sundays to watch it.

Dusk Watch is said to be filmed in the states and that they want to change the actors out.  :X  If this is the case make another movie and leave this one to channel one.  (the way it should be anyway)
