OWW…
It is easy to be motivated by the lovely pictures of Russian women on the internet sites. Indeed, there are many brides that are just waiting for the asking. The idea of finding that elusive perfect wife just might become a reality. However, patting your back pocket, one may find that the wallet is a bit thin for such big ideas. Perhaps not all is lost. After some creative accounting one may find that one can take 1 stab at it. One visit will have to do.
Thus is born the strategy of the One Week Wonder, (OWW). An approach born out of necessity… or should I say brevity of resources. In any case, there are some typical methods that will help the OWW along in his endeavor that may differ from other strategies.
Of the OWWs that decided on going the agency route, this is a good choice. You will be able to maximize your precious time by meeting many RW in a short period of time. One week is really to short. Perhaps a 10 day or 2 week package is better.
You have to stay focused. Remember why you are there. There will be a lot of distractions that will tempt you to stray along bunny trails. If you find yourself in a non-productive conversation with a lady, it’s time to call the date off. You don’t have the time to waste on the wrong woman.
Avoid the ‘Top Ten’ most popular RW in an agency. They are less likely to be serious since they have more options and maybe trolling for a long time before biting… You don’t have the time to find this out for sure or not.
Inquire with the office manager and interpreters as to which on your date list they believe are the most serious. This may help you concentrate your efforts and time along the right RW.
Try to stay with women that are no greater than one or two notches up of what you would be able to marry in your homeland. As you know the greater the beauty, the greater their needs.
Avoid huge age differences. Stay below an apparent age difference of 15 years.
You will have to decide relatively quickly if you are to have a fiancée by weeks end. Perhaps you will have met 14 RW in the first two days. Of those you must make a decision. Then, you will have 4 days to court her and propose. The last day is needed to do the paperwork for the K-1 Visa. The time will go fast.
After two days of dating and you don’t feel any mutual chemistry or connection with any of the RW, the timeline will begin to unravel. You can dispense with doing the K-1 paperwork till later, however it will cost you more to do it from the States. This will give you one more day to date other RW.
Ok, in the extra day of dating nothing panned out. Now you’re hitting the wall on the lack of time. You say to yourself that this is not supposed to happen… well, welcome to Russia. You will have to bite the bullet and start shaving time from courting.
One more day on the dating trail and still you’re empty handed. At this point one has to ask himself the hard questions, “What is wrong? I’ve met 28 (7 per day) gorgeous RW and still I can’t decide.” Either you have unrealistic expectations or you’re still suffering from ‘Hot Babe Overload.’ Slap yourself silly and smell the coffee. You may have already met your Fiancée and didn’t realize it. Put your brain on rewind and review the events of the RW that you have met. Chances are she is there.
If you are not sure, start second dating the most likely candidates. Often, between second and third dates you will see a marked change in attitude as they feel more comfortable with you. Then, perhaps you will be able to decide.
As in the tradition of true dyed-in-the-wool OWWs, you will most likely propose on your way to the airport or by e-mail or phone when you get home. No one said that the work of the OWW is easy. Just keep in mind that there will be a mountain full of relationship building when she gets her Visa and your risks of failure are heaped accordingly.
