The Spreadsheet Strategy…

The sheer number of Russian Women that WM have to select from often overwhelms anyone who begins in this endeavor.  Whether it is a mail campaign or deciding on who to meet through an agency, all face the same question of, “How to decide.”  The methodologies are as varied as there are people on this Earth.  They range from gut instinct to objective analysis.

The spreadsheet strategy is perhaps on the far end of the analytical approach.  Its aim is to take some of the guesswork out of the selection process.  If setup properly, it can be very effective in reducing the pool of perspective RW to any number that you wish to correspond or meet with.

The idea is that from most agency sites, there are standard formats of information (i.e. age, height weight, etc.) that are easy to quantify as to one’s particular desirability.  A 1 to 10 scale can be used.  This information is inputted into a spreadsheet like Excel.  Other more subjective aspects of a RW’s profile (i.e. writing persona, interests, facial beauty, etc.) can be done in the same manner.  Perhaps one may have scaled 10 to 15 characteristics for each profile of interest.   Then a weighing factor and/or simple formula is added to each characteristic. Then all the characteristic values are multiplied and normalized to yield a percentage of compatibility.  It may sound complicated; however for those that use spreadsheets every so often it should not be a monumental undertaking despite the fact that this endeavor can be viewed a such.

The results can be surprising.  It can reveal profiles that one thought was not so promising, really are worth considering, and vice-a-versa.  The great advantage of this is that it can yield a list of profiles in descending order of apparent compatibility.  This way you can apply your efforts in a focused orderly manner.  Consequently there is the potential of less wasting of time and effort.

Did, I mention there are some drawbacks?  Well, such efforts of efficiency lose its power on Russian soil.  A well-targeted mail campaign using a spreadsheet strategy can’t guarantee that there will be chemistry on the other side of the world.  Also, for those that are going the agency route, a spreadsheet strategy begins to fall apart on the first day of one’s visit.  There is a guarantee that things will not go as planned.  Meetings and date schedules have a way of not going as scheduled.  Often, one will have to make on-the-spot decisions as the once careful orchestrated schedule falls apart.  In most cases the spreadsheet is only effective for the first few days to a week of a visit.  For some this is enough (OWWs) while for others it is not.

In any case I don’t see a fault in this type of strategy.  Perhaps it is not a strategy at all.  Perhaps it is just an aid or method that is helpful in assisting all those that have more RW on their hands than they can handle.   Now who wouldn’t want to be in this enviable position?

P.S. I know a number of professionals that have used this approach to prepare for their first visit.  They would not have gone to Russia without doing their homework first.  The spreadsheet is just another tool just as much as a credit card is... they wouldn't leave home without it.
