RW Sweet Age Range…

Sometimes a large age gap is just a by-product of accepting a RW in the “Sweet Age Range.”   This is the age range that RW are, IMO, best and most successfully transplanted into a new culture and can maintain a lasting marriage.  Their attributes are:

1)    Not too old where the brain becomes less absorbent.
2)    Not too young that they still believe that the “world is their oyster.”
3)    Not too old that the Russian ways of life are too ingrained.
4)    Not so young that their Russian values are not well rooted.
5)    Not so old that their experiences with RM become baggage.
6)    Not so young where they lack experiences with RM.
7)    Not so young where they lack the understanding that life in Russia is not easy.

IMO, this age range is from ~25 to ~30 years of age + 2 years depending of the RW. YMMV.

While I see you again use the "YMMV" as the great qualifier, I beg to differ.

I don't think there is a "sweet age", as you put it, I think the essence of a good marriage is a good match.  A man can be 50 and the woman can be 40, if they are a good match, she is of a "sweet age".  She will be a good and faithful wife as long as chemistry and compatability are present.

Understanding RWs is not rocket science.  They are just people, like any others.

Bunker,

I believe that the “IMO” is a very good qualifier.

I agree that understanding RW is not rocket science.  “RW are just people” I think is understating how complex things really are.  Such are words that are easily said after having experiences with RW for a time.  Still, for many the mystery surrounding Russia and RW need to be explained and dispelled, this can be done by explaining the differences.  To list the commonalities is just too laborious.

So what is your recipe for a good match?  Perhaps you can start a new thread about this since it may go outside the bounds of this topic.
