As with many Russian concerns, one has to bear in mind that once they have your money, service tends to become a forgotten word. This is not so with my experiences with LifetimePartners (LTP). Since it is a U.S. owned, I know that I have recourse if I'm not satisfied with the service. However, recourse was never needed. Everything was as expected. My highest praise goes out to the interpreters who really go out of their way to smooth out any cultural mishaps or miscommuncations.
Since my last visit through LTP, they had gone through a change of ownership (I have met the new owner) and an unfortunate break with their sister agency near Moscow. Still, their agency appears to be in good stead.

Hi Ronin,
Do you know off hand whether or not the new owner is still carrying on with the original attempts at helping to support some of the local orphanages? I ask because there is a couple at work who are very interested in adopting a baby, and there are not too many countries out there where there is a large amount of available "pale" babies. Russia is pretty much it. They are looking for a Caucasian baby, and no other countries really come to mind as far as where to look .

Splashmaster,
Sorry about the edit marker on your post. I was not to careful in clicking the 'reply' key.
About the orphanage... I would imagine that they would advertise that. It's a good PR angle. I suspect that it may have gone out with the previous owner. I can't say for certain.
Yes, adoptions are a good bet in Russia. There are many of such orphanages in Tver Oblast alone. the trick is in getting a health one. If a less than health baby is acceptable...no problem.

Is Marc Dayton still involved with LTP? I am just curious. He was in Tver when I went there in '98. I got to know the owners back then, but it was sold to Woody. The I had heard that Marc was at least part owner.

KenC,
Yes, Clark sold to Woody who in turn sold it to Dennis.
As far as I know Marc is still at it. He as a vested interest since he installed his MIL as the office manager in Tver.
I have heard the same that Marc has some part of the pie, however I have never comfirmed that.

Well, it been a number of years since I have last used LTP services. Consequently, I can recommend them only to the extent that they have provided good services to me in the past. I have little knowledge to their present state of affairs. So now it is caveat emptor unless other members can shed some light.
