Greetings to everyone here!  If I was supposed to post to a newbie thread, then my apologies for not doing so.  I guess I wasn't able to locate it.

I guess the first thing I should start with is why I've decided to try and persue a relationship / marriage with a woman who lives in Russia (RW).  In one sentence it is because I've grown tired of dating women here in my area of the US and all the superficiality and materialism that goes along with that.  Now mind you, that's not to say that everyone I've dated is like this.  I have had some successful relationships which ended for different reasons, the fault being either mine or hers.  Honestly, at this point I'm not even sure if I would experience less of these things if I were to get involved with a RW.  Needless to say, this is all new to me and I want to make sure that I do my best thorough homework on this, as many seem to advise here.

My first stop was singlebrides.com, which I was skeptical of from the beginning.  The first red flag was when I received some messages in my inbox and found out that I had to upgrade to premium status in order to reply to these messages.  I considered it and went to the payment page.  Near the bottom was a message which read something like "DO NOT SEND ANY FINANCIAL HELP TO THE LADIES" and "AS LONG AS YOU DON'T SEND ANY MONEY, YOU WON'T BE DECEIVED".  That caused me to really slam on the brakes here.  So I logged out and did a Google search on something like singlebrides.com and scam.  Needless to say, there were a lot of results that came up.

From the list, I went to a site called agencyscams.com which, IMO, had a lot of useful information for me to go through.  Single Brides was mentioned there on his "grey list" since, IHO, this site was associated with anastasiaweb.com.  I won't go into all the details here since you've probably heard all this before, but I did spend a little time on this site and read as much as I felt comfortable with and cancelled my membership on Single Brides after that.

Angency Scams was also how I learned about RWPrimer and here I am, trying to get educated on this subject and make the best decisions that I can.  Wish me luck and I look forward to communicating with you along the way!

wizzkidder,

Welcome to the RWPrimer!

If you are looking for a crash course in how to marry a Russian bride and avoid the many pitfalls, you have come to the right place.  The things you cite about the relationships in the States have a familiar ring to it.  Many who decide on following the path to Russian Women (RW) echo the same thoughts.  You are not alone in this.

There is much condensed information here that will get you up to speed very quickly.  RW are similar yet distinctly different than any group of women that you may have met in the past.  Many things written here may seem counter intuitive from an American Man's (AM) POV, however as long as you keep an open mind you will do fine.

Good Luck,

Ronin
