Russian Women and Internal Conflict…

Preface:  This topic contains references to religion in general. Those individuals that possess a thin epidermis are advised to read no further.  It is not my intent to debate religion in any form or manner.  I’m presenting a possible explanation for thought and perhaps understanding of a culture that is far removed for what we(WM) are accustom to.

Many WM are no doubt familiar with Western culture and the impact that organized religion has had on Western society.  It influences everything from government to personal behavior.  What is interesting is that one doesn’t have to a member of a religion to be significantly affected.  Similarly, the same can be said of most people in Western society.  We are all affected in like ways.  In this we share many common views, thoughts and aspirations that hold us in our society.

When a WM aspires to meet a RW, he essentially goes in with blinders since RW are working on another plain (could be another planet to some).  Russians has been without direct religious influences for the better part of the 1900s.  Consequently, IMO, RW behavior is more governed by the rules of law (both formal and informal).  Formal laws are currently going through many transitions and may not be very effective in governing personal behavior.

This leaves informal laws or modes of acceptable behavior that are formed by family and peer groups.  We can narrow this further to say that RW will behave in accordance to a combination of their families and friends influences.  Family will often be more in touch with the influences of the long lost religions, while the friends will often be less so.  If this is true, it would appear that RW major influences are by close friends and family with a lesser degree the society as large.  This may seem no different than in Western countries, however I beg to differ.

With a tighter influence from friends and family where the religious compasses takes a back seat, RW have less internal conflict in who and what they are and what they want to be.  This is something that WM are not accustom to.   Unlike in many Western countries where there is good and bad and very little in between, RW’s local influences create independent behaviors that are spread more evenly across the entire spectrum.  That line that separates our ideas between good and bad is bled over from both sides to create a huge middle ground.

The clear lines that WM are comfortable in differentiating between bad and good women are shifted and rather vague in the Russian framework.  Along with it are many other black and white notions that we (WM) carry with us when deciding on a RW.

In my experience most RW appear not to be plagued with internal conflicted that stems from who they are verse what they believe they should be.  They are who they are and this is another refreshing aspect of RW.  This is why it is so crucial to speak plainly to RW about everything. Cover all the deal breakers and everything in between.   RW can be a WM’s dream or nightmare.  It all depends of the match that is made.  The majority of the match is up to the WM.

In my travels I did once meet a RW that worked in a monastery.  IIRC she was an accountant.  Just looking at her profile she could have been the average WW… conservative in make-up, dress and hair.  In the photo her expression was like she was sitting on a rock and trying to hide that fact.  Upon meeting her it didn’t take long to determine that she would need years of therapy to reconcile her beliefs with her personal life.  This is time I don’t have to waste.

This one example by no means proves my contention, however it gives pause to ponder if such a train of thought is true.  RW do indeed have differences that are hard to explain.  Perhaps the trek to find these explanations is academic.  Taking RW at face value is a much easier approach.  Still, in understanding, one may be able to avoid the lesser-known potholes in choosing a RW.
