Russian Woman Bait and Switch Scam…
RW are very enterprising in working the system. They learn this from a lifetime of living in Russia. For those with larceny in their heart, where there exists a weakness, they will exploit it. If there is a loophole somewhere, they will find and use it.
Here’s one very interesting scam. Perhaps it’s not a scam as you would expect, but if you are the recipient of this you will very much feel like you where scammed big time.
Let us say that you are an older gent. A little worse from the wear and tear from. Your Russian woman fiancée is more than 20 years your junior. Everything seemed to go smoothly by the book in finding your fiancée. Your courtship went well. You could not ask for anything better. She is a lovely girl, perhaps 2 notches more than your could obtain in your homeland if you were 20 years younger.
You are cautious and have been diligent in reading about red flags and scams. Initially, you were a bit worried about the age difference between you and your Fiancee, however her and the agency interpreter both said that wasn't an issue and was even preferred. All of that is in the past since you both fell in love anyway and you don't regret a minute of it. Still, though you trust your Fiancee, you are relieved that there were no last minute foul-ups at the airport when she departed for your homeland on her fiancé visa.
Though you have no doubts of your love for her, she has doubts of going to a strange land. She is cautious too. When her Fiancee visa was approved, in the arrangements, she asked if you could make her non-refundable, non-transferable, round trip airfare. You thought that this was a wise and prudent request though she wouldn't need or use the return flight. To satisfy her cautious nature, without hesitation you graciously grand her this request.
Outside of the Customs gate, you stand waiting to receive her with a full bouquet of red roses and open arms. Your hands are sweaty in anticipation. A crowd slowly gathers after the PA announces her flights arrival. You notice that you are not the only man waiting for a Russian Woman. You notice that many of the men have flowers as well which is the custom for returning Russian women.
Next to you, a young man steps up to your side clutching a single rose. You think fondly of how it was in your younger days and asked, “Waiting for your girlfriend?” He turns and nods. He says,”Been waiting 6 months for her to get a tourist visa.” You smile and think to yourself that that is a luck man and how much easier it was to catch the eye of pretty girls in your younger days.
Your thoughts are interrupted as a stream of passengers exits from Customs and you strain to look for your long awaited fiancée. There she is… just as you remembered her. She is beautiful as ever. She looks at your direction and smiles. She hurries her steps toward you. In a matter of seconds all the planning and worrying will be passed and the future will be bright.
She is just a few steps away. You are elated that that she is really here. But something is wrong. Could it be the light air or some mis-step due to air sickness? Is she so excited at seeing you that she will faint? Her steps are no longer straight. She swerves. She is almost at arms length so you reach out to catch her… but you miss.
She falls into the arms of the younger man next to you… the one with a single rose. To your disbelief and astonishment they embrace and kiss. They say a few words to each other, and then they are on their way. You look at her dumbfounded and in shock. As the young man takes the led, she looks back at you with a wistful smile… you've been had.

So you're saying this woman used his love for her to get him to buy her a plane ticket and then just went with the other man?
That's a dangerous game...
