I met a girl through DreamMarriages.com. I physically met her in Ukraine. I found many suspicious things about her but put them aside as I had traveled a long way to meet her and there are often things that are misunderstood for language and cultural reasons.
Upon my return to the US, I called her mobile phone every day. She never answered.
I called the local agency in Ukraine (DreamMarriages.com local partner) and spoke with the owner directly. The owner said I should write the girl a letter.
I should also say that before I left Ukraine, I made sure the girl had a PC and interet access. I figured it would be a cheap investment for her to communicate with me without the use of dreammarriages.com
I never received an email from her to my personal email account.
I finally gave in and sent the girl a message through DreamMarriages.com. My laptop was and is still set to the local ukrainian time. I sent the email at 4AM Ukrainian time. Within 1 minute (to be more precise--the time it took to click between 2 open screens on the dreammarriages.com website, I noticed the girl had logged into the system. I was dumbfounded as I know she does not get up early. I thought about this for about 1 minute. I went to my Inbox and believe it or not-- I already had a response from her. Her response was very short-- the Ukranian phone system is very bad and I probably cannot make a call from the US to her phone and her asking me to continue to write.
I was a little troubled by my perceptions of the way things happened.
I sent her another email saying I thought something was strange about the last email. I said that I heard sometimes the Agency writes letters just to make money. I asked her to tell me the last thing she told me when I left Ukraine as it was something she could not possibly forget. This way I would know she is really writing me. I emphasized the importance that she say this in any response to me. I never got another email from her.
I should also say that I have friends (not girls and not related to Agencies) in Ukraine and I never have problems calling a Ukrainian phone especially a mobile phone.
Something sure smells rotten.
