Russian Women and Allergies…
Many Russian Women will claim having very few if no allergies at all. I was surprised to hear this and thought it would be good to pass on. My guess is that since Russians make do with so little, they are in contact with few potential allergens.
This allergy thing is another story once a RW arrives in the West. Here, our environment is smeared with synthetics and other man-made materials. It’s under our feet and in what we eat. It touches about every aspect of our lives.
In California it is even worse. California is essentially an irrigated desert. We have created an artificial biosphere where everything grows. This means that if a person is allergic to one or more forms of pollen, they will discover it in California.
Another point is that Russian cuisine is limited in its ingredients. In the West, about anything that is imaginable is available for consumption.
In Russia, RW have this running joke, “You have no allergies? Wait till you live in the West!” This is so true. So be prepared. Many RW don’t know they have allergies because they have not encountered the allergens that we have in the West. Some RW will swear that we (WM) have made them sick. They will try to lay the blame on us WM. So be considerate and at the same time explain these facts.
