Helping your RW Pass her Driver’s Exam…
RW are result oriented. This is how they are taught in school. All tests in Russia are standardized. To pass an exam one must know the questions to be asked and the corresponding answers.
Telling a RW to study the State drivers manual is like saying ,”I will not help you… you are on your own.” The manual doesn’t contain the Q&As that she needs… just a lot of confusing rules and regs that are not real to her.
If one wants to really help, one needs to get a copy of all the possible questions and answers that the exam may have. It would be even better if it were in Russian as well. Some sets of exams maybe available on the internet. Often, the best source is the RW grapevine. There, the most current sets are available to the couples that cultivate the vine. It doesn’t’ matter if she has to study hundreds of Q&As. Having this information will give her something to study. These are creatures of wrote memory… and don’t forget that!
California Russian Written Exam
From 2003 to 2005 California had 3 different Russian exam test sets that consist of 36 general questions plus 12 sign questions. Only 6 or less wrong answers allowed on the first try. Only 3 or less wrong answers are allowed on the second and third try. (Note: it is a fact that the allowable errors may vary for year to year.)
California, DMV publishes 5 sample tests at this link. (English Language)
California, DMV Handbook (Russian Language)
Oregon, DMV Page (2 sample tests in English. Knowledge test in Russian)
New Jersey, MVC Page (1 sample test in English, Knowledge test in Russian)
Idaho, MVD Handbook (Russian Language)
Wisconsin, DOT Page (Knowledge test in Russian)
These are the only Russian language assistance that the states provide that I'm aware of. If anyone is aware of more, let me know.
