Russian Brides are Raised to See Beyond Looks…
There is no debating that Russia suffers a RM shortage. Even worse is the 'good' husband shortage. This is not a recent event either. It has been like this for many generations. So much so that Russian mothers raise their daughters on the virtues of a 'good' husband and de-emphasis looks as a criteria. Intentionally shifting their daughter’s sights from handsome to one that will treat her well and stick it through thick and thin.
Such sayings as, ”a husband doesn’t have to look much better than a monkey” and, “you don’t have to drink from a husband’s face” are typical pearls of wisdom hammered into the young girls. Many RW marry early and find the truth in their mothers’ words. Often these early marriages end up being trial runs... a learning experience. Perhaps they married a handsome RM and found out that facial features doesn't make a marriage successful. This is when RW often open the option of searching for a foreign husband.
This Russian Woman attribute of seeing beyond the facade of flesh is an incredible divergence to western thought and our 'looks conscious' society. To many RW, looks take a back seat to other attributes of a potential husband. To think that there lies millions of gorgeous RW where their dreams of a ‘good’ husband go unfulfilled and all they are looking for is a decent husband to care, raise and protect the family.
To strengthen my point, WM that are particularly handsome are at times at a disadvantage when it comes to RW, this is true especially with older RW (> ~25 years old). These are RW that are in earnest to find a lasting partnership. They may prefer a more average man that can provide better. The 'more average man' is a man that they know they can live with and will more likely be faithful to the marriage.
This sounds only too good to be true to the average WM, yet it is true. Only the crucible of fallen communism could have wrought and released such wonders to WM. This is a gift to WM that few are aware of and even fewer have realized. Rarely is there a opportunity like this for the average WM to fulfill their life's dreams, however nothing is given out for nothing, for long.
