| Is a round trip ticket required for my 3 mo. trip to Russia or can I, one way it and, decide when and book a return later?

JPjr,
Good question.
I can't say with authority whether a return ticket is required. Perhaps I can answer in a round-about way by avoiding the situation all together. My question is why not book a round trip ticket just to be safe and also it is cheaper? Just choose a carrier or pay a special up front fee that makes it easy for you to have a fixed yet changable return flight.
For instance, my wife visited Russia for an extended stay, however had to return (to California) early. She had a round trip ticket and was able to change the return flight date for a $75 fee.

JPjr,
If you are using Russian carriers, your options are very limited. If you do opt for the round trip fare and will change the return date later, be sure you understand 'exactly' how it is done. They may say something like that you will have to change it (perhaps meaning in person) at a major office or airport (perhaps meaning at Moscow only). Also, remember that Russian company regs can change at any time.
With that said... have a good time and bring back a lot of pics!
