Going to Russia and doing it right are two different things. Russia is no ordinary destination. If you go and tell your friends and family that you are traveling to Europe, they would probably be thinking, "so what, you and everybody else." But, talk about going to Russia will elicit responses of concern like you're intending to go into the great unknown.
To take some of the thinking off your hand, we have created a check-off list for the action items that are most likely needed to be addressed about 1 month in advance.
- Submit vacation request
- Air Fare
- Train Tickets
- Car Ride (In Russia)
- Shots
- Check insurance for rental coverage
- Check med insurance for out of country
- Decide on Med Evac insurance
- Pet care sitter/kennel
- Plant & lawn care while gone
- Hold on USPS deliveries
- Travel insurance
- Check limit on credit cards
- Inform credit card co that you are going
- Hold on newspapers
- Pay bills in advance
- Make arrangements for transport to airport.
- Make Passport & Visa Photos if needed
- Arrange for Passport if needed
- Arrange for Visa if needed
- Reserve hotel/flat.
- Secure near mint Currency for Trip
- Go over Luggage checklist for items needed
