Agency Interpreter Politics…
It is true that RW don’t have equal footing with RM. Still, they can often get what they want through other means. It is said that in marriage that the man is the head and the woman is the neck. In other words, the man makes the decisions that the woman presents to him. This is also true in WM/interpreter relationships. This is where the WM can be made to have blinders on because the interpreter presents him with the interpretations and advice.
Bear in mind that most RW and groups of RW have their own agendas. This is to say that they have plans or designs to benefit themselves or the groups they associate with. This is not good or bad, but more the way things are.
Much of this problem stems from conflicts of interest. For instance, an interpreter may be friends or related to some of the RW that the client is courting. Will the interpreter divulge this fact? And even if she does, whether through direct questioning or on her own volition, would her interpretation and advice be colored in favor of these preferred RW and/or to the detriment to the other RW? The answer is perhaps obvious.
Another twist is where interpreters are allows to be in the pool of profiles. It is the interpreters that get the advanced info on clients coming to Russia. It is the interpreters that get to meet them first. The most eligible clients can be targeted by interpreter(s) who are in a position to sabotage his dates with other RW in myriad of ways that appear perfectly legit. The client not being the wiser will be forlorn due to his lack of success in this endeavor. After a time, the interpreter(s) may make there play to call attention to themselves as possible bride candidates. It can be made to seem so natural that the client will swear that it was his idea to date her. It will most likely be one intepreter that works this, however it can be a group effort as well.
A worse conflict of interest is one of many gray scams. In this case the interpreter and agency collude in steering a client to date a pro-dater. The client has a good time and thinks he is building a relationship, however his visit most likely will never result in a marriage. The pro-dater will continue to provide excuses like, “I believe in a traditional courtship.” This is done to assure that the client will return again and again to fill the agency coffers.
Another twist is where the interpreter colludes with RW client. This is a situation where a WM become very serious about a particular RW, however the RW is not so thrilled with the man. Still, the RW unwilling to throw away the golden goose will continue a superficial relationship to see how much the WM will empty his wallet for her. She may solicit the interpreter to more or less become a wedge between the couple so that the relationship never gets too deep or prolongs it before the WM calls it quits.
So what can you do to better your odds? First, tell your interpreter off the bat that as a rule you will not date anyone on staff or who was on staff at the agency. This will set them straight if they have designs on you. Get to know your interpreter and then casually ask if she has friends in the program. Say that you maybe interested in them. Look at their profiles and then tell her that they aren’t your type. This will help clear the conflict with friends. Then, say that this visit is a one shot deal. That if you don’t find your soul mate, you will try some other venue. This should help in taking out the incentive to gray scam you.
