Chivalry is not dead…

In the Politically Correct (PC) society, chivalrous acts are more of less detested as the vestiges of a dying male order.   As the new genderless or uni-gender norms become established, male attitudes and behaviors in courting change along with the times.  Out with the old and in with the new POV as it were.  Over time the old ways of behaving will be suppressed and he new ways will become habit.

Still, biologically, psychology, and perhaps morally, most men have the inherent sense that all things are not created the same.  When courting RW, this is a good thing to remember.  RW expect their men to provide the common courtesies that are rarely obliged or expected by WW.

Think of Russia as if it were the US in the fifties.   All the little acts of attention are critically important to mark the suitor as a kind and attentive man:

-         Opening all doors for the RW.
-         Assisting with putting the RW’s coat on and off.
-         Holding her arm-in-arm when walking.
-         When walking, position yourself to hold her street side arm.
-         Helping her across treacherous grounds. (ice, water, stairs, steps, etc.).
-         Helping her to be seated at a table.
-         Assist her to with the menu, then order for the both of you (man’s work).
-         Take the lead in planning the day’s venue (man’s work).
-         Assist RW upon entering and leaving a vehicle.
-         When leaving a restaurant or building, insure that she hasn’t left anything behind.
-         Carry heavy bags for her.  She may insist that she can carry it, so you must insist more.

These are just a few things to do and remember.  I’m not speaking of the extremes like dueling and the like, just the simple things that mean so much to a RW.
