Russian Woman and Dental Care…
You may have noticed that the Russian Women in profile photos or videos tend to have those Mona Lisa smiles. There are a couple of reasons for this.
One, it is a social thing. RW, (this goes for Russians in general) tend not to smile at strangers. The west’s ability to smile superficially for not reason at all is a learned trait that has not extended to Russia. Consequently, RW may find it awkward to smile at a camera. Also, Russian society expects the RW to be somewhat reserved when meeting new people for the first time.
Second, is that Russia’s dental hygiene awareness is not as great as in Western countries. To compound this is that toothpastes and flaws are an added expense that can be thought of as not necessary all the time. Also, Russian dentistry, though free, is less than Western standards unless one pays extra for Western materials and services. The new popularity of cigarettes hasn’t improved the situation either. This all adds up to a smile that can be sometimes less than appealing.
The contrast can be rather stark. I dated a young gorgeous RW that was mesmerizing. She was a tall thin blond 22 year old university student at the time. Again, she had the Marilyn looks and Mona Lisa smile. On the 3rd date I thought that things were going pretty well between us so we went to a cozy restaurant. You know the kind of place where the tables are so small that you can bump noses if you looked up at the same time. She finally began to loosen up and laughed at a joke I made. The spectacle that sat before me made me cringe, mentally. This clip pretty much lays out what happened, Love at First Sight, No Way. I thought I was staring into the jaws of some giant rodent! I lost my appetite for my meal as well as for her despite her other sparkling attributes.
Moral of the story is to be prepared for the possibility that a RW may need some work done in this area. It is a small price to pay considering the rest of the woman one gets. The best thing said about this is that it is a fixable problem.
