The Russian Woman Kiss…
There are many customs around the world. Some are wildly different like head hunting while others are mildly different like taking your shoes off in the house. I can’t really say that the following is a custom, habit or a result of the accelerated RW process, however it’s an observation that I have made. It is a bit disconcerting and it took me some time to get used to this ‘custom’ for a lack of anything else to call it.
I have brought this up before in another venue and the responses were mixed. Many WM said that they didn’t observe this ‘custom’ when they were with RW in Russia. I suspect that they didn’t see it because they were not looking for it… literally. Leave it to me with my curiosity to discover this sight unseen discovery.
When kissing a RW it seems that many don’t close their eyes. Perhaps this is strange only to me. At first it was a great shock to be peering into the wide-open eyes of a RW at point blank range.
Does this mean anything? I can only guess a rationalization. Perhaps it has to do with the accelerated nature of the process. The pushing the envelope of how fast RW can be made to love a WM. In many cases it is not love that occurs on a WM’s proposal visit. Often the RW will often the chance to love he intended. Her full love may well be held in reserve to when she is married and beyond. If this is the case, a full kiss too early may not have all the attributes that we expect… such as the closing of eyes. To surrender ones guard with a stranger in Russian is risky business. RW know this all too well. This thought may also be conveyed subconsciously when kissing.
