Returned Russian Brides…
Every now and then I will buy a returned or refurbished item. Mind you, this is a rare occurrence where the item is something that I’m very well familiar with and I will get an extended warranty just in case I missed something. Overall, this strategy works well for me and I bet it works for others as well. The end result is that I’m able to purchase an item for a significantly discounted price despite the extended warranty. This is a win-win situation.
Can this approach be reasonably applied to returned Russian brides? Think about it. With the thousands of Russian brides jetting to the West every year there are bound to be some bad apples in the mix. If the WM has done his homework he would have sent these bad babes to their homeland before they got a chance to do too much damage.
Incredibly, some WM would think that these 'kicked to the curb' RW are a great deal. They are perhaps more attractive than most, since they were chosen as a WM's bride in the first place. They know the ropes. They have been through the immigration process for K-1 which means that their records are clean. They have taken some real English classes so they can speak to their prospective suitors with little or no help from the interpreters. They have had exposure to the Western culture so cultural-shock and homesickness are almost non-existent. Overall, they can hit the road running when landing in their new homeland the second time around. For inexperienced WM, this can be what the doctor ordered. This would be the closest thing to a plug-and-play RW wife. Everyone’s a winner.. or so it would seem.
Unfortunately, this is often not a correct view of the world from the RW’s POV. Surely they all have some story that their previous fiancé as an absentee abusive liquor drinking, drug popping, sex obsessed control freak. Perhaps that is true… in some cases. For the seasoned RW that gets the chance at a second go around, they hit the tarmac running indeed. That means that their expectations are higher and they will unfold their plans faster on their new stepping stone of a husband.
Unfortunately the Soviet Union is no more. These RW don’t get re-educated or refurbished for going astray. These experienced RW get stocked right back on the agency shelf for the next bride seeker who is totally unfamiliar and inexperienced with RW and the "process". There are no extended warranties on these high risk puppies. As a whole, they should be considered damaged goods. Unless you are willing to bet the farm that they are otherwise it is best to stay clear of these RW regardless of how attractive they may make themselves to be.
