Russian Brides and Daylight Saving Time…
Do you have a schedule for calling your Russian Bride? Do you get concerned if she isn’t answering? Even more… are you worried how she will think if you miss calling her at the appointed time? Then listen up. You now have to deal with the world time and it’s strange complexities.
For the most part the time differences are fixed by time zones. Daylight Savings Time (DST) puts a wrinkle in this. Every March through April, DST starts. Every late October through November DST ends. The problem is that it doesn’t start and end at the same time for all places in the world. The same is even true within times zones. Part of the problem lies in geography and politics. In any case it is something that a well-heeled AM should be aware of. Western European Countries tend to have closer transition times if not the same.
These are some of the transitions for this year and next:
U.K. U.S.A. Russia Kyiv
2006 End DST Oct. 29 (2->1) Oct. 29 (2->1) Oct. 28 (3->2) Oct. 29 (4->3)
2007 Start DST Mar 25 (1->2) Mar. 11 (2->3) Mar. 24 (2->3) Mar. 25 (3->4)
2007 End DST Oct. 28 (2->1) Nov. 4 (2->1) Oct. 27 (3->2) Oct. 28 (4->3)
